Welcome to the new East Bay Paratransit (EBP) Contactless Payment App for iPhone and Android.  It’s the easiest way to pay for your trips in advance and eliminates the need for paper tickets or cash. The EBP App offers helpful features for the riders and their families to see upcoming trips and choose which trips to pay for.

Frequently Asked Questions:

       How do I get the App?

Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and search “East Bay Paratransit”. Look for the EBP logo and follow the steps to download the app for free.

       How do I set up My account in the App?

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you will see the “Create an Account” screen.  Follow the prompts:  enter First and Last name, Paratransit Client ID Number, Date of Birth, email address, confirm your email address, and create a password that is at least 8 characters (you must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one special character).

       What if I don’t have a smartphone? Can I do this online?

No.  If you do not have a smartphone, you will continue to pay for your East Bay Paratransit rides with EBP tickets or cash.

       Can I use my smartphone for a family member who does not own a smartphone? 

Yes, you can you your smart phone to set up an account for a family member or friend who is a certified paratransit rider.  You will be able see all of their scheduled trips and select and pay for their trips using the app. Riders who have accounts may request to pay for a trip when they are making their reservation by calling Customer Service at 510-287-5000.

       How do I set up a payment method to eliminate single credit card transactions?

Go to your profile and tap “Edit Payment”.  You will be prompted to set up your payment source. Options include debit, credit, PayPal, and Venmo. 

       Can I book my trip on the app?

No. Trips must be scheduled through the East Bay Paratransit Customer Service Center by calling 510-287-5000.

       How can I view all my trips including upcoming, completed, and cancelled?

At the bottom left of the app you will see “My Trips”.  Click that icon to view your upcoming, past and cancelled trips.

       Can I pay for all of my upcoming trips at once?

Click on “My Trips” at the bottom left of the app. Once you are on the screen that displays all of your trips, click “pay” on any trip that is not currently paid. At the bottom of the screen, click “Add More Trips”. You will now see “select all” on the upper right of this screen. Then follow the prompts to pay the total amount for all unpaid trips.

       Can I use the app to pay for a companion who is traveling with me?

Yes. When you make your reservation, the cost of the trip, including your companion’s fare will show up on the app.

       How do I add to my balance?

Click the “Profile” icon at the bottom right, then select “Add to Balance”. Choose the amount of money you’d like to add, then follow the prompts to complete the transaction with your preferred payment method.

       What is the minimum amount of money I can add to my balance?

            $40

       What is the maximum amount of money I can add to my balance?

$200

       How do I find my wallet balance?

Go to “Profile”.

       Can I set up auto-load when my app’s wallet is low?

No. Unfortunately, auto-load is not currently available.

       Can I cancel my trip on the app?

No.  Trips can only be cancelled by contacting the East Bay Paratransit Customer Service Center by calling 510-287-5000.

       How do I get a refund for a trip I have paid for on the app but then cancelled my ride? 

You must contact East Bay Paratransit Customer Service center for refund requests by calling 510-287-5000.

       Can my family member book and pay for a trip with the account I set up for them through the Customer Service Call Center?

Yes. If there are sufficient funds on the account, the individual booking the trip may ask the Call Center Agent to pay the fare from the account when making the reservation.

       Do I need to show the driver my ticket on my phone when I board the van?

No. The driver will see that you have already paid your fare on the screen in the van.

       Does the App log you out?

No. You can remain logged into the app when not using it but if you want to log out, you must manually log out. If you log out, you will need to log in with your credentials when you open the app again.

       What if I forgot my password?

 

From the home screen click “Forgot Password” and follow the prompts to be emailed a link to reset your password.
